This is a response to a posting on 01/06/2021.
Floyd George Sheriff. A listing on Ancestry.com
has a birth record of a Floyd Sheriff born 1903 Jul 20. The Father is James Sheriff M=Esther Woods. A newspaper The Allamakee Journal had a death notice for a Floyd Sheriff who died 1918 Oct 26 at Caledonia, Minnesota. This would probably show up in the 1918 Nov 01 issue of the Caledonia Argus. I find the correct name of his Father is-
James Edward Sheriff M=Essie Jane Woods.
I would agree the stone is most likely wrong.
The engraving on the stone is all the same.
This means it is created after the death of
Lloyd in 1925.
