Georgena Catherine Coy, age 69, died Wednesday, February 5,2004 at the Northbrook Manor Care Center in Cedar Rapids, following an extended illness. She was born March 19, 1933 at Fairfax to Forest and Mary (Lockhart) Primrose. Georgena graduated from Washington High School, Cedar Rapids in 1951. On May 3, 1952 she married George M. Coy at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Georgena was a license clerk at CRST in Cedar Rapids before retirng after 20 years of service. She also worked as the City Clerk of Shellsburg for seven years. In her free time she enjoyed woodcrafts, needlework and reading. For the past eight years Georgena and George have spent their winters in Mission, TX., .... She is survived by her husband, George of Shellsburg; one son, Marion and wife Iris of Wildwood, IL; two daughters, Susan Clark and husband, Marvin of Shellrock, and Cindy Groth and husband, Donald of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister, Rose Taylor and husband, Darrell of Center Point; one brother Eugene Primrose of Cedar Rapids; and one half-sister, Doreen Lees of Lauana Woods, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30am. Saturday, February, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton with Pastor Larry Rodgers officating. Burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Shellsburg.

Lloyd Lavern Coy

Lloyd Lavern Coy, age 93 died Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids following an extended illness. Private funeral and burial will be held at a later date. Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton is in charge of arrangements. Lloyd was born February 2, 1910 in Shellsburg to Otis and Nellie (Engledow) Coy and was a farmer all of his life. On February 22, 1942 he married Edith Carberry at Lancaster, MO. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Edith, six sisters, Louiva Johnson of Cedar Rapids, Sadie Sturtz of Garrison, Blanche Henkel and Genevieve Their, and husband, Albert all of Vinton, Alta Gee of Maynard, and Edith Williams and husband, Harley of Shellsburg; and three brothers, William Coy and wife, Norma, and George Coy all of Shellsburg, and Otis Coy. Jr and wife, Janet of California. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Erma Noeller.

Rites held today for Nellie M. Coy
Nellie M. Coy (nee Engledow)

Shellsburg -- Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Campbell- Russell Funeral Home for Nellie Molinda Coy, 91, who died Friday at the Edgewood Manor Care Center in Cedar Rapids following a brief illness. The Rev. Elmer West officiated and burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Shellsburg

She was born Oct. 28, 1889 at La Porte City, a daughter of Hiram and Martha Engledow. She married Otis D. Coy, who died Jan. 8, 1967

Surviving are four sons, Lloyd, William and George of Shellsburg and Otis Jr. of Cedar Rapids; seven daughters, Mrs. Clifford (Loueva) Johnson and Mrs. Harley (Edith) Williams of Shellsburg, Mrs. Marvin (Sadie) Sturtz of Garrison, Mrs. Albert (Genevieve) Thiher, Mrs. Raymond (Erma) Noeller and Mrs. Ted (Blanche) Henkel of Vinton and Mrs. Dale (Alta) Gee of Sumner; 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Riggle of Vinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, two sisters, and two grandchildren.

William "Bill" Coy, age 87, died Saturday, September 4, 2004 at St Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a brief illness. Funeral Services will be at 10 am, Thursday, September 9, 2004 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton. Interment will be Oakwood Cemetery, Shellsburg. He is survived by his wife Norma; 2 brothers, Otis Coy JR of California, George Coy of Shellsburg, and six sisters, Sadie Sturtz of Garrison, Blanche Henkel, Alta Gee of Sumner, Loueva Johnson of Cedar Rapids, Edith Williams of Iowa, and Genevieve Thiher of Vinton.
