W. J. WALKER.

Floral Divider Bar

FARMER.--For twenty years Mr. Walker has resided among us, coming hither from Clayton county, Iowa. Locating here when the county was new and thinly settled, he was compelled to undergo many hardships necessary to pioneer life. But he was equal to the emergencies. Nothing succeeds like success, and this worthy citizen's aim was to succeed, if possible, in whatever undertaken. Mr. Walker is one of the county's prominent politicians, a democrat from principle, conscientious and fair in all political battles and true to his friends. At the January meeting of the board of supervisors he was appointed steward of the county poor farm for a term of three years. Their appointment meets the approbation of all who are acquainted with our worthy citizen.
