BRICK AND TILE MANUFACTURER.--For the growth and prosperity of Audubon every manufacturing industry is entitled to considerable credit, and no other industry is more deserving than the Audubon Brick and Tile Manufactory. It has stimulated the building of many brick blocks within the past few years. To the energy and push of the proprietor of this business great credit is due. Mr. Tramp is a native of Germany and is forty-five years of age. He removed to Audubon in 1880 and engaged in the manufacture of brick. He has been identified with this industry thirty years, and thoroughly understands every branch of the business. Apprehending the wants of the farmers as well as his townsmen, a few years ago he concluded to increase his facilities for making brick and also prepare for the manufacture of tiling, and expended several thousand dollars. He has one of the best plants in western Iowa, and employs from 10 to 12 men. The products of this factory are known and appreciated throughout this whole western country, and often his force is run day and night to suppply the demand. Mr. Tramp is ever foremost in advancing the interests of his town and county, is conscientious in every business construction, striving at all times to merit the patronage and respect of his fellow man. To his untiring efforts to promote an industry beneficial to his community, the citizens of Audubon and Audubon county are truly thankful. Mr. Tramp is a member of the A. F. and A. M., I. O. O. F. and K. of P. orders.
