MANAGER STUART ESTATE.--Mr. Thayer came to this city some ten years ago and entered the employ of Cptain Charles Stuart (deceased). He came here from Muscatine county, Iowa. He chose for a life companion, Miss Fannie M. North, of La Crosse county, Wisconsin, an estimable and pleasant lady. Mr. Thayer early in life demonstrated his fitness and ability to successfully conduct any business he might be called upon to engage in. He carefully guarded every interest of his employer and soon gained his confidence. At the time of Capt. Stuart's death he was made manager of the entire estate, $750,000.00. Over 100 persons are employed by this estate and its business extends over a vast territory. Under Mr. Thayer's management the business has been successfully conducted, as the large increase in every branch fully demonstrates. A shrewd financeer [sic financier], a public-spirited citizen, an accommodating pleasant gentleman is the endorsement we cheerfully accord him.
