JEWELRY AND MUSICAL GOODS.--Six years ago Mr. O'Connell came from Atlantic to Audubon and engaged in his present business in partnership with his brother, whose interest he afterwards purchased. Though but twenty-seven years old, he has been engaged in the jewelry business for thirteen years and thoroughly understands every detail connected with this trade. During his residence in Audubon Mr. O'Connell has grown to be one of the leading business men in the city and in his branch of trade he does the leading business. In 1890 he was elected a member of the city council, a position which he still retains, and in this capacity he has served the people of Audubon admirably and has given the highest satisfaction. He is one of the prominent democrats of Iowa, having served in the positions of county chairman, congressional chairman of the county, etc. In social circles Mr. O'Connell is a leader and as a businessman has always been favored with merited success. He is a member of the Veritas Lodge No. 392, A. F. & A. M., of Godfrey Commandery and of the K. of P. society.
