GENERAL MERCHANDISE.--The members of this firm removed from Logan county, Illinois, seven years ago, and have been residents of our county ever since. Industry and honesty has its reward. By close application to business they succeeded in accumulating ample means to justify them in embarking in commercal business, and early in 1891 they opened a general store at Hamlin, Audubon, county. It proved a successful business venture. Always pleasant, and courteous in their treatment of customers, they could scarcely fail in building up a large trade. They carry a large stock of groceries, dry goods, clothing, hardware, tinware, agricultural impliments [sic implements], etc., are the only mercantile firm in Hamlin, and take special pleasure in dealing fairly and liberally with all.
