Center twp. school No. 1
aka Ferring school

Section 1, Center Township

Section 1 northern boundry just south of the Lansing twp. border.

On the 1886 Warner-Foote plat and the 1917 Anderson Publishing plat there is another school labeled No. 1 in Section 3, but that school isn't shown on the 1917 Waukon Standard plat

Center No.1 school notes

Doris Cavers, teacher

Friday, Oct.19, ended our first six weeks period. We have an enrollment of ten, four boys and six girls.

Those having perfect attendance are: Lois Anne and Elizabeth Gruber, Theresa and Dorothy Pfiffner, William and Arthur Hofer. Those having perfect spelling are: Elizabeth and Lois Anne Gruber, Theresa Pfiffner, Corrine Schoen.

The fourth grade pupils have made health scrap books for hygiene. The third grade is making a geography booklet. We like the new geography method and find it very interesting.

The sixth and eighth grades are making illustrated music booklets, which have been traced on paper and colored to make booklets.

We have our entire school year will be as successful as our first six weeks have been.
