Early in February, Mr. and Mrs. Robt H. F. Morgan of Winona, brother and sister respectively of Esq. and Mrs. W.D. Morgan of this place, in the hope of benefitting the declining health of their only daughter, Leah, brought her to this place, to her uncle's residence, for medical treatment at the hands of their relative, Dr. Davis.

Afflicted with consumption, there was but little hope for relief, yet all that could be done by the art of medicine and loving relatives' care was cheerfully done, but without avail, as she sank rapidly, and death took place on Thursday night of last week.

The deceased was thirteen years of age, and the only remaining child of a family of ten, the others having died in infancy. The affliction the parents have been called upon to bear is alike as poignant and deep as remarkable and perhaps unprecedented and the sympathy felt for them, in this last and greatest trial, is heartfelt and general.

The remains were taken to Winona, on Friday and interred from the residence of the parents on Sunday afternoon.
