ELDORA GIRL IN WAVES

Eldora, Ia -- Elaine Wehrman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wehrman of Eldora, has joined the WAVES. She has received her call to report April 9 for her basic training at Iowa State Teachers college. Miss Wehrman has been attending Coe college at Cedar Rapids.

Eldora -- Elaine Wehrman yeoman second class, has written her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wehman, that she is a member of the only WAVE drum and bugle corps in the United States. The drum corps participated in the recent Fourth War Loan drive in New York in which over 2,000 service men and women were seen.

Coe Corner
Elaine Wehrman '44, Y 1/c, USNR, is secretary to the district director of the Women's Reserve at the U.S. Naval Barracks in New York City. She reports having had dinner with Lt. Joan Morr '44 of the Army Nurse Corps recently. Lieutenant Morr, daughter of Mrs. Anna M. Morr, 1153 G avenue NW, Cedar Rapids, is preparing for overseas duty.

Miss Wehrman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wehrman of Eldora, has been stationed in New York City since entering the service in April 1943.
