Anna Marcella VanHauen

 

 

Shell Rock -- Marcella VanHauen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.J. VanHauen, has joined the Waves and is awaiting her call to Hunter college, New York, to begin training. Marcella is the first to go directly from Shell Rock into the navy auxiliary. She was graduated from Shell Rock high school in 1933 and from Iowa State Teachers college in 1936. She taught school at Belmond for five years and for the last year has worked with the FBI in Washington.

CEDAR FALLS WAVE RECEIVED DISCHARGE

Cedar Falls -- Wave Specialist A. Marcella Kitzmuller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Van Hauen, 1010 West Third street, has received her honorable discharge from the Women's reserve of the navy. Wife of James G. Kitzmuller, Vero Beach, Fla., Mrs. Kitzmuller, has been on duty at the naval air station at Vero Beach, and received her discharge in Miami, Fla., headquarters of the Seventh naval district.

Anna Marcella Van Hauen was born July 18, 1916 to Henry J. and Mary E. Sansenbach Van Hauen.

Anna served in World War II with the U.S. Navy at Vero Beach, FL. She was married to James Gray Kitzmuller.
