The two in the picture (above) are Laurel Harms (Left), a typist at the Rock Island Arsenal, and Joanne Van Atta, high school librarian, both from Muscatine.

AT NEW LOCATION -- Joanne Van Atta, Sp. (M) 3/c, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G.E. Van Atta, 316 Main street, has been transferred to a new assignment at the fleet post office at Norfolk, Va.
Upon entering the WAVEs, Joanne was sent to Hunter college, Bronx, N.Y., for one month's training before going to Sampson, N.Y. naval base where she took a specialist's mail course, and then assigned to the fleet postoffice at New York City for further training. Miss Van Atta was librarian at Muscatine high school before entering the service.
Her new address is: Joanne Van Atta, Sp. (M) 3-c, F.P.O. personnel, N.O.B., Norfolk, Va.
