Alma Gurine Valen Beastrom was born Dec. 3, 1908 to Arnt Gabrielson Nilsen and Marie G. Lear Valen. She died Aug. 27, 1989 and is buried in Estherville Lutheran Cemetery, Estherville, IA.
Lt. Valen served in World War II with the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. She was married to Norman E. Beastrom.
