Men and Women in Service
Mary E. Thompson, 3269 Nebraska Street, recently was sworn in as a private in the Marine Corps Women’s Reserve and will take her training at Camp Lejeune, New River, North Carolina. Private Thompson has two brothers in the army, John, stationed at Waukesha, Wisconsin and David, a dental technician at Jefferson barracks, Missouri.

Corporal Mary E. Thompson, of the Marine Corps Women’s Reserve, who spent a Christmas leave at her home, 1021 34th street, has been assigned to the casualty section of the personnel division at Marine Corps headquarters, Washington, D. C. Corporal Thompson enlisted here June 7, 1943, and received her boot training at Camp Lejeune, New River, N.C. Prior to her present assignment, she served one month as mess attendant at Washington.
