70 Pct. Of Iowa WACs From Fighting Families

A survey of approximately 70 per cent of the total Iowa WAC enlistment reveals its close integration with the war effort through service of members overseas and in this county, and through other members of their families.

Four children of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Stock, Davenport, are in service.  Pvt. (f.c.) Dolores Stock is a WAC. Two brothers joined the navy; the other is in the army.

Cpl. Dolores A. Stock, of the WACS, is stationed at present as a clerk in the technical data department at George field, Illinois, an important base of the First troop carrier command.

Cpl. Stock, who has four brothers in the service, was previously stationed at the air base at Alliance, Neb., where her duties included those of mail clerk and instructor. In her current post, she is assisting in the work of the groups which distinguished themselves in the Burma campaigns.

Prior to enlisting in the service, Cpl. Stock was employed by Louis Hassnen's Sons Hardware store. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Stock, 19423 Dixwell street.
