70 Pct. Of Iowa WACs From Fighting Families
A survey of approximately 70 per cent of the total Iowa WAC enlistment reveals its close integration with the war effort through service of members overseas and in this county, and through other members of their families.

More than Half of Iowa WACs Have Immediate Kin in Service
Des Moines - More than 50 per cent of Iowa women serving in the Women's Auxiliary corps come from families which has at least one other member on the service.

Pvt. Jean Goddard Stamp, who for a time made her home in Iowa City, where she attended the University of Iowa, and was employed by the state auditor, is in North Africa. Her basic training at Ft Devens in June was followed immediately by overseas training and she sailed for North Africa. Her brother, Joseph B. Stamp, III, is also in service.
