Pfc. Mary Elizabeth Simmons, stationed at Camp Miles Standish, Mass., visited her mother, Mrs. Emma Simmons, 3210 Seventh st, en route to Fort Sam Houston, Tex., where she will take a disposition center course at the adjutant general's school.

FIRST WAC DISCHARGED

Fort Des Moines, Ia. -- The first Iowa WAC to return to civilian life is Pfc. Mary E. Simmons, Des Moines, who was discharged Wednesday. Pfc. Simmons, who joined the WAC in February, 1944, received her final discharge papers Wednesday morning at the new Fort Des Moines separation center.
