Dolores Savage Is Accepted by WAVES; Will Leave Sept 9

Dolores Savage, who resides with Mr. and Mrs. H.T. Peacock, 1120 West Second street, has been accepted by the WAVES and will report for duty at Hunter college, New York City, Sept 9. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Klechner of Fort Dodge.

Miss Savage has been employed by the Feltex Cr. in Rock Island and formerly attended the American Institute of Business in Davenport.

She has two brothers in the armed forces, Pfc. Eugene Savage who is attending a radio school in San Francisco, Calif., and Pvt. Jerrold Savage, who is now serving overseas.

WAVE of the Day

Delores Savage, yeoman, third class and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Kleckner, Ft. Dodge, is spending a 14-day leave at the home of her sister, Mrs. G.H. Peacock, 1120 West Second street.

Miss Savage attended Hunter college in new York. She is now stationed in the Commander-in-Chief's office in Washington, D.C.

Before enlisting in the navy she was graduated from the Ft Dodge high school and also attended A.I.C. in Davenport. She was then employed as secretary to a purchasing agent at the Feltex Corp in Rock Island.

In The Armed Services

Dolores Savage, yeoman, third class, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Kleckner, Ft. Dodge, and Sgt. E.J. Savage of Lynwood, Calif, were home recently on a 24-hour pass, visiting their sister, Mrs. Tom Peacock, 1120 West Second street. The three had not seen each other in eight years.

Miss Savage attended the Hunter college in New York. She is now stationed in the Commander-in-Chief's office in Washington, D.C.

Another brother Pfc. J.M. Savage, who entered the service, June 1944, was wounded in action in New Guinea. He received his training in Modesto, Calif

Weds Tonight

Miss Dolores G. Savage, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Kleckner of Fort Dodge, Ia., will become the bride of Charles B. Kruse, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kruse, 2717 East Pleasant street, Thursday at 7 p.m. in the rectory of St. Mary's Catholic church, with the Rev. Leo Kerrigan officiating.

Mrs. T.H. Peacock of 1120 West Second street, Davenport, with whom the bride has resided, will be matron of honor, and R.D. Renihan will serve his brother-in-law as best man.

The bride will wear a French gray linen dress with black hat and accessories and a corsage of pink roses. Mrs. Peacock will wear an ecru lace suit with black hat and accessories and a corsage of pink carnations.

A reception for a small group of relatives will be held at the Renihan home, 1525 East high street, Davenport.

The bride was graduated from Fort Dodge high school and she attended the American Institute of Commerce., Davenport. She was in the Waves for four years when she was stationed in Washington D.C. She received her official release this week. Mr. Kruse, a graduate of Davenport high school, was in the army for four years, and is now with the Walsh Construction Co.

Dolores Grace “Dee” Savage Kruse was born Mar. 3, 1920 to Joseph Michael and Anne Agnes Harkin Savage. She died June 22, 1984 and is buried in Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL.
