Betty May Rhodes

 

 

Betty May Rhodes, daughter of Mrs. Hattie Rhodes, 204 1/2 Iowa avenue, and Lucille Mayree Beckman, daughter of Mrs. Lillian Beckman, 113 Iowa avenue, will report late in November at Hunter's college, Bronx, N.Y. to begin training with the Waves following their enlistment at Davenport recently.

Betty May Rhodes Bishop was born Feb. 18, 1923 to Charles H. and Hattie M. Balmos Rhodes. She died Apr. 15, 2006 and is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Muscatine, IA.

Betty served with the U.S. Navy WAVES in World War II. She was married to Earl Victor Bishop, Jr.

Earl was born Apr. 12, 1916 to Earl (Sr.) and Mabel Metzger Bishop. He died Mar. 3, 1982 and is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Muscatine, IA. Pvt. Bishop served with the U.S. Army in World War II.
