Milford Young Lady First in Dickson County to Join WAAC
Miss Helen Peterson, twin daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. N. Peterson of Milford, first Dickson county young woman to join the Women's Auxiliary Corps at Des Moines left Monday for her final examination and was sworn into service Wednesday afternoon. She has returned home to await her call to service.
Miss Helen and twin sister, Harriett, were born in Milford and have always resided in town or on a nearby farm. At present the family resides in Milford. The sisters graduated from high school with the class of 1934. Miss Helen has always been active in Sunday school work in the community. Since finishing high school she has assisted with the home work and at the homes of various neighbors and friends.
