Miss Georgia Frances Perry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George J. Perry of 2610 Farnam street, Davenport, has been sworn into the WAVES and will report at the WAVES general indoctrination school at the Iowa States Teachers college, in Cedar Falls, Ia., on April 9.
Her patriotic enrollment will release a man from shore duty so that he may join the fleet.
Miss Perry is employed in a stenographic capacity at the Rock Island arsenal. She was graduated from the local high school in 1936 and while a student was active on basketball and was a member of the Glee, the Dramatic and the French clubs. She is now affiliated with the Gamma Alpha chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.

Georgia Frances Perry, who has a petty officer rating of yeoman, third class, in the WAVES has been assigned to the navy shore station in Washington, D.C., where she is doing clerical work.
Yeoman Perry was graduated from a course in shorthand, typing and naval correspondence at the Iowa State Teachers college in Cedar Falls, prior to leaving for the east.
