Mary McDermott Orford, seaman second class in the Waves, who recently completed basic training at Hunter college, New York, has been transferred to Washington D.C., where she is now on active duty, according to word recently received by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.A. McDermott, 623 Courtland street. She has two brothers, Coxswain Don McDermott in Florida and Staff Sgt.Fabian McDermott in Alaska in the navy and army respectively.
