ENLISTS IN WAACS

Forest City - Dorothy Naverson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Naverson, who is teaching at Rake, visited her sister, Anna Naverson, at Des Moines over the weekend. While there she enlisted in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps and will be inducted after her school duties are completed sometime in May. Anna Naverson enlisted in the WAACs three weeks ago and is to be inducted soon. They have a brother stationed with the army at Camp Roberts, Calif.

70 Pct. Of Iowa WACs From Fighting Families
A survey of approximately 70 per cent of the total Iowa WAC enlistment reveals its close integration with the war effort through service of members overseas and in this county, and through other members of their families.

Corporal Anna Naverson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Naverson of Forest City is on duty at the radio control tower Marana Army Air Base, Tucson, Ariz. Her sister, Dorothy, also a WAC, works in the medical supply division at Fort Williams, Maine. Their brother, Donald is also in the army.

Sisters in WAC Meet in New Guinea

Forest City -- Two sisters, Anna and Dorothy Naverson, members of the womens' army corps, met in New Guinea recently. They are the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Naverson and had not seen each other since Dorothy entered the WAC in June 1943.

Anna enlisted in the WAC in March, 1943, took her training at Fort Des Moines and was sent to the flying base at Tucson, Ariz. She took her overseas training at Fort Oglethorpe and left for the Pacific Dec. 1, 1944

Dorothy entered the WAC, in June 1943, took her training at Fort Devons, Mass., and was assigned to Fort Williams, Me. She left for the Pacific last summer from Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.

They have a brother, Donald with the army in Belgium.
