A former Waterloo woman, Mrs. Edna Myers, 28, a member of the women's army since March, is shown at right as she report to the WAC motor vehicle dispatcher on a trip she has just finished as driver. Mrs Myers pilots jeeps, trucks, - everything up to 1 1/2 ton haulers. Taking her report is Evelyn Carter (standing) and Mary Toth, technicians fifth grade. Despite a sharp drop in travel by pooling, WAC vehicles at Fort Des Moines, Ia., still total 2,500 miles daily. Recent reductions in travel have cut the average 100 miles a day, 2000 miles a month.
