Bettendorf WAVE to Marry Pfc. Bendsil
Evelyn Lucille Michl, storekeeper disperser, second class, in the WAVES, daughter of Mrs. Edith Montague of 1349 Grant street, Bettendorf, will become the bride of Pfc. Cecil Bendsil, formerly of Davenport, at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Bettendorf Community Presbyterian church with the Rev. D. Paul Chapman officiating at the double ring ceremony. No invitations are being issued by friends are welcome to attend.
The bride will be given in marriage by her uncle, George A. Meier. Mrs. Arnold Parks will be the matron of honor and Lester Leatherman will serve as best man. Donna Jean Montague, sister of the bride, will be flower girl and Robert Nelson will act as usher.
A dinner will be held at the Club Mo-Kan for 30 friends and relatives. Out-of-town guests will include Betty Green, yeoman, third class of the naval air station, Ottumwa; Staff Sgt. Kenneth Clark of the army air base, Lincoln, Neb. and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jackson of Joy, Ill.
Miss Michl was graduated from Davenport high school, attended the American Institute of Commerce and was employed at the Davenport Besler Corp. before entering the service. At the end of a 14-day leave she will report back to the naval air gunner's school at Miami, Fla. Pfc Bendsil is enjoying a 45-day leave after 35 months overseas in Africa, Sicily, Belgium, and Germany. He has participated in four major battles.
