Winners on the Campus

Designed by college girls themselves, these Cownie Furs win a place in the wartime wardrobe of any fashion-wise young woman.

Second-prize in Cownie's College style competition was won by Carla Dollar. Her coat, made in Northern Seal-dyed Coney, is modeled by Pauline McMahon (right), a junior at Iowa State College.

Des Moines in the Services

Lt. Pauline McMahon, army medical department dietician, has been assigned to Camp Butner, N.C. after completing basic training at Camp Carson, Colo., and six months internship at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. M.D. McMahon, 1614 Forty-seventh st., spent a weekend with their daughter at Springfield Mo, before she went to Camp Butner.
