WAVE of the Day

Miss O. Lucille McHargue, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. McHargue of Princeton, Mo, has enlisted in the WAVES. She is an honor graduate of the Princeton high school and attended A.I. C. Business college.

She has been making her home while in Davenport at 115 1/2 Harrison street. Prior to her enlistment, she has been employed as a bookkeeper by the First Trust & Savings bank.

Miss McHargue has returned to Princeton to visit her parents until November, when she, and the other tri-city girls she enlisted with, will leave here to report to Hunter college, New York.

WILL BEGIN TRAINING in WAVES

Five girls will leave the Rock Island recruiting station Wednesday morning to begin their basic training in the WAVES at Hunter college, New York. Shown above with the recruits are Claude V. Virginia Martin, extreme right, who leaves the local WAVE recruiting office to take the new recruits to New York, after which she will be assigned to another post.
