Virginia E. Koons, of 1131 Pine st., has been sworn into the WACs and will report for her basic training soon at Fort Des Moines army post.

WED AT FORT DES MOINES

Pfc. Virginia E. Koons, supply clerk of Co 9, WAC, stationed at Fort Des Moines and Pfc James E. Hart, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Hart, 604 Morton ave., were married at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fort Des Moines chapel by Chaplain David E. Earnhardt. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Koons, 1141 Pine.

Both bride and bridegroom are graduates of East High school. She was employed by Des Moines ordnance plant before her enlistment in July.

Private Hart is on a 45-day recuperation leave after spending 38 months overseas where he served in both the North African and European campaigns with three bronze stars. He is now stationed with the 400th military police battalion at Jefferson Barracks, Mo.
