Mary Ann Kelly

 

 

 

The first to join the WAVES from Mystic, Ia., is Mary Ann Kelly, daughter of Mrs. Magdalene Kelly. She is a graduate to Mystic High school. Miss Kelly, 23, has two brothers in the navy, John J. Kelly, San Francisco, Cal., and Raymond E Kelly, on shore patrol, Boston, Mass.

54 JOIN THE WAVES -- Pictures above and on the left are 17 of the 54 who passed examinations and were sworn into the WAVES late Thursday. They are among the 75 from the Tri-city area who will depart Aug 11 for Hunter college, New York, to start their training.
