Becomes Captain in Nurse Corps

Naomi J. Jensen, daughter of Mrs. A.C. Jensen, 520 Voorhis street, has been promoted to captain at Barksdale field, La., according to an Associated Press dispatch here Wednesday.

Capt. Jensen, a graduate of Abraham Lincoln high school and of Jennie Edmunsdson school of Nursing, enlisted in the army nurse corps 12 years ago and until the out-break of was was stationed in the Philippines islands.

Her brother, Lt. Col. Arnold Jensen, also serving the with army medical corps, has recently arrived in the United States form the European theater of war.

Three Daughters Enjoy Reunion at Home of Mrs. A.C. Jensen During This Week

The arrival of Lt. Col. Arnold Jensen from Texas a few weeks ago was incentive for a family reunion with his sisters, Capt. Naomi Jensen, of the United States Nurse corps at Barksdale field, La., Mrs. Howard Parke of Allentown, Pa., and Miss Delph Jensen, of this city.

The sisters are guests of their mother, Mrs. A.C. Jensen, while Lt Col. Jensen, home from two years service is with his wife and two daughters, Virginia and Marilyn. Lt. Col. Jensen is on a 30-day leave and expects to depart about the first of April for Temple, Tex., for reassignment.

This is the first visit of Capt. Jensen and her brother in four years. Capt Jensen served as United States army nurse in the Philippine islands for two years and since returning to the United States in 1938 she has been stationed in San Francisco and at present is chief nurse of the army hospital in Barksdale, La. She will return to her duties in Louisiana on Thursday morning after a week in Council Bluffs with her family.

Major Naomi Jensen Expected Saturday

Relatives have received word that Maj. Naomi Jensen will arrive home for a two week leave on Saturday.

Maj. Jensen has been stationed in Korea and has been in charge of the 29th General hospital there.

She will be the guest of her sister, Miss Delpha Jensen and sister-in-law, Mrs. Eva Jensen.
