Mary Louise Jacobs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Jacobs, 1835 Third avenue SE, has been promoted to corporal in the marine corps. She is stationed at the marine headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Coe Corner

On May 2 Sgt. Mary Louise Jacobs '41 celebrated her second year in the Marine Corps. Since boot camp training at Hunter College in New York City, Sgt Jacobs has been stationed at Marine headquarters in Washington, D.C., where she is secretary to the director of personnel. Daughter of Mrs. J.J. Jacobs, 1835 Third avenue SE, Cedar Rapids, she was one of the hundred and forty marines chosen to march in the funeral procession of the late President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Jacobs II, 1835 Third avenue SE, are announcing the approaching marriage of their daughter, Mary Louise, to Harry B. Bracey, jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry B. Bracey of Springfield, Tenn. The wedding will take place Nov 30. in the Immaculate Conception church.

Miss Jacobs was graduated from Mt Mercy academy and attended Coe college. She was discharged from the Marine corps last October and has been attending the summer session at the University of Iowa. Mr. Bracey attended the University of Tennessee before entering the army where he served with the aviation engineers in India. He will enter George Washington university in Washington, D.C., where the couple will make their home.
