Loelda M. Hess, who resides at 411 East 11th street, has been appointed a second lieutenant in the army nurse corps and will leave Apr. 2 for Camp Carson Colo. to begin a period of army training, a news release revealed Monday.
Lieutenant Hess, who formerly lived at Brandon, Ia., graduated from St. Francis hospital school of nursing, Kewanee, Ill., in 1943 and has been employed by the St. Francis hospital here since May 1944.

Brandon -- Lt. Leolda M Hess, daughter of Mr. George Hess of Brandon, is now training at the Camp Carson, Colo., nurses training center. Lieutenant Hess was graduated form the St. Francis hospital of nursing, Kewanee, Ill. She has four brothers now serving in the army, Cpl. Albert Hess, Pfc. Roland Hess, Pvt. Paul Hess and Tech. 5th Grade Charles Hess.
