Georgene Hendrikson Is Accepted For Waves
Miss Georgene Hendrikson, a niece of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Hendrikson, 1708 Mulberry avenue, has been accepted by the WAVES, the auxiliary to the United States navy. Miss Hendrickson passed the examination at Chicago this week and will report in February for duty.
Miss Hendrikson was graduated from Muscatine high school and attended Muscatine Junior college. She is employed at the John Deere plant in Moline.

GRADUATED
Georgene Gertrude Hendrikson, 21, niece of Mr. and Mrs. Walter H. Hendrickson, 1708 Mulberry avenue, was a member of the class of 1,029 Waves who graduated from a five-week indoctrination course, Women's Reserve, on the campus of Iowa State Teachers college today. She will now be assigned to a school to learn the navy trade.

COMES FOR VISIT -- Georgene Hendrikson, yeoman second class in the United States Naval Reserve, is spending a nine-days leave at the home of her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hendrikson, 1708 Mulberry avenue, with whom she resides. Miss Hendrikson, in service in the WAVES, is attached to the Bureau of Navy Personnel in Washington, D.C. She plans to leave Friday to resume her duties.

Berglunds To Be Honored Sunday At Hendrickson Home
Mr. and Mrs. Walter H. Hendrikson, 1708 Mulberry avenue, are entertaining at open house Sunday afternoon in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Berglund who were married recently at Boulder, Colo. Mrs. Berglund, niece of Mr. and Mrs. Hendrikson, is the former Miss Georgene Hendrikson.
The open house will be held at the Henrikson residence between the hours of 3 and 6 o'clock.
