Elizabeth Anne Harvey

Wife of Cpl. George Cook

 

Three Des Moines WAVES were commissioned ensigns recently upon completion of officer training at Northampton, Mass. All are graduates of the State University of Iowa and hold bachelor of arts degrees. They are:

Miss Elizabeth Anne Harvey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Harvey, 1408 E. Thirty-third st.; Miss Sarah Ellen Dawson, daughter of Mrs. Jennie K. Dawson, 1211 Twenty-first st.; and Miss Margery Hargrove, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Hargrove, 518 Fifty-eighth st.

MARRIED IN CHURCH RITE

Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Harvey, 1408 E. Thirty-third st., announce the marriage of their daughter, Ensign Elizabeth Anne Harvey, of the WAVES to Corp. George Cook, son of Louis Cook of Des Moines.

The wedding too place at 8 p.m. at Old South Church in Boston, Mass, with the Rev. Lee Delroy Bergeman officiating at the double-ring ceremony

Both the bride and bridegroom attended the State University of Iowa. Mrs Cook was a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority and Phi Beta Kappa. She is attending Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she is studying aerological engineering.

Corp. Cook has returned after 23 months of service in the South Pacific. He will later attend Officers Candidate school at Quantico, Va.
