Lt. Louise Hackfort Given Foreign Duty

Miss Louise Hackfort, second lieutenant in the army nurses' corps, who has been stationed at Camp Shelby, Miss., has been transferred to foreign service. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hackfort of Carroll.

Miss Hackfort, who was graduated in 1934 from the St. Anthony Hospital School of Nursing, took a postgraduate course at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Lt. Louise Hackfort Back From Overseas, Goes to Camp Sheridan

First Lieut. Louise Hackfort, of the army nurse corps, who recently returned from foreign duty, passed through Carroll last night on her way to Camp Sheridan, Ill. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hackfort.

Lieut. Hackfort returned to San Francisco April 11 after being overseas since Jan. 20, 1942. She has served in Australia, New Caledonia and New Hebrides.

Louise Hackfort Promoted to Rank of Nurse Captain

First Lieutenant Louise M. Hackfort has been notified of her promotion to rank of captain. Captain Hackfort is assistant chief nurse at Barnes General Hospital in Vancouver, Wa.

She arrived at the hospital after serving 27 months at station hospitals in New Caledonia and New Hebrides. She was with the first convoy that landed in New Caledonia and helped care for the wounded from Guadalcanal. Her service also includes 21 months at Jefferson Barracks, Mo.

Before her induction in the service, she was a member of the staff at St. Anthony's hospital, Carroll. Mr and Mrs Henry Hackfort, her parents, sister Annabelle Hackfort and brother, Andy Hackfort, reside at 114 South Walnut, Carroll.

Captain Louise Hackfort, of the army nurse corps, who was called home by the death of her father, Henry Hackfort, returned to Fort Crook, Neb., today.
