MARJORIE FLENKER, DIXON, PROMOTED IN NURSE CORPS

Army Nurse Marjorie Ellen Flenker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Flenker, Dixon, has been promoted to the rank of first lieutenant at the Camp Crowder, Mo., station hospital, where she is stationed as a general nurse.

She is a graduate of the University of Iowa school of nursing, and has been assigned at Camp Crowder since entering the army in August, 1942. Before enlisting in the army nurse corps, she was employed at the Seaside Memorial hospital in Long Beach, Calif.

MARJORIE FLENKER , DIXON, DISCHARGED FROM NURSE CORPS

Dixon, Ia. -- Lieut. Marjorie Flenker, army nurse corps, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Flenker, has been discharged. She was stationed at Sioux Ordnance depot, Sidney, Neb. Her sister Myra, who is employed at Fresno Calif, spent some time with her sister and family here while on vacation.

Miss Flenker was graduated form the University of Iowa school of nurses in 1939 and served two years on staff of the general hospital in Iowa City. She was employed in Long Beach, Calif, before entering the service in September, 1942 She was first stationed at Camp Crowder and was transferred to Sidney in May this year as head nurse.
