Emily C. Demuth

 

Miss Emily Demuth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Demuth, 815 West Third street, has been accepted for training in the Waves and is awaiting a call to report for active duty about mid-November. She has been employed by the Hawn Motor Co., for the past six and one-half years after attending Gates Business college here.

Miss Emily Demuth has arrived for indoctrination training with the Waves at Hunter college, New York, according to word received here. She was formerly employed by Hawn Motor Company.

Emily C. Demuth, who was a storekeeper first class in the Waves and stationed at the naval air station, Norfolk, Va., for the past two years, has been discharged at the Great Lakes, Ill separation center. She is now living at 815 West Third street.

The engagement and approaching marriage of Emily C. Demuth, 815 east Third street, to John C. Stefan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stefan, 811 Reber avenue, were revealed at a breakfast given by the bride-elect's mother, Mrs. Susan Demuth at Neely's Cupboard Sunday morning.

The wedding will take place in Sacred Heart Catholic church, Sept. 7.

Miss Demuth, who served 27 months in the Waves, is employed by the Hawn Motor Co., and the groom-elect also served in the navy and was overseas in the Asiatic-Pacific theater for 20 months. He is employed by the John Deer Tractor Co.
