Visitor......Miss Martha Curtiss, singer in the Lockheed band at the Hollywood Canteen, is a visitor from Los Angeles, Cal. She is spending a month with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Curtiss, 1308 Harrison ave.

Des Moines in the Services

Martha Curtiss, seaman, second class, in the WAVES, is spending a seven-day leave with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Curtiss, 1308 Harrison ave. She completed boot training at Hunter college, N.Y., and is stationed at Newport, R.I.

A graduate of North High school, she sang weekly at the Hollywood Canteen before entering the WAVES, and also sang for servicemen in various camps in the west.

Miss Martha Curtiss, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer C. Curtiss, 1219 Seventh st and Herbert F. Welch of Los Angeles, cal., son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick A. Welch, 1145 Eighteenth st, were married in candlelight service Dec. 20 at Trinity Methodist church. The Rev. Alfred H. Barker officiated.
