Lt. Mrs. Gus Boosalis

 

Our Neighbors in the Service

Cherokee, Iowa- Mrs. Gus Boosalis, who was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Army nursing corps January 7, has been promoted to first lieutenant. She is stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas, Lieut. Boosalis was a member of the American Red Cross nurses’ reserve for three years and a leader in civilian defense and Red Cross work prior to entering the service. She conducted many Red Cross first aid classes in the county. She was graduated from St. Joseph’s Mercy hospital at Fort Dodge and took post graduate work at St. Mary’s hospital in Rochester, Minn. She worked in hospitals at Fort Dodge, Rochester, Harrisburg, Pa., and Sioux Valley in Cherokee. Her husband is a veteran of the First World War.
