Miss Bessey Is Married to S.W. Zahller

Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Bessey, 1350 Twenty-fourth st., announce the secret marriage of their daughter, Johnene, petty officer, third class, of the WAVES to Lieut. Stanley W. Zahller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Zahller of Chariton, Ia.

The wedding took place Oct. 3 at Inglewood, Cal., with the pastor fo the Church of Christ reading the service. The bridegroom's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. F.H. Zahller, were attendants. Mrs. Zahller is a graduate of North High school and attended Capital City Commercial college. She joined the WAVES in February and is stationed at Alameda, Cal

Lieutenant Zahller is a graduate of Grinnell College, Grinnell, Ia., and has been in service for the last two years. Since returning from overseas duty he has been stationed at the post exchange at Camp Elliott, San Diego, Cal.

Johnene Bessey Zahller, petty officer, third class, in the WAVES, is spending a 10-day leave with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Bessey, 1350 Twenty-fourth St. She is stationed at Alameda, Calif. Her husband, Capt. Stanley Zahller, with the marines at San Diego, Cal, is visiting in Des Moines with her.
