Wave of the Day
Miss Elinor Lorraine Behrens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Behrens, 2020 1/2 Esplanade avenue is one of a group of Davenport girls who have recently enlisted in the WAVES.
A graduate of Davenport high school, she will be the second member of her family to enter naval service. A brother, Midshipman Donald Behrens, is stationed at Annapolis.
Miss Behrens will leave for U.S.S. Hunter, New York City, in November.

A group of WAVE recruits from this area left the Rock Island recruiting station early today for Hunter college, New York, for a six week indoctrination course.
