Mascot.

“Pepper” is taking a long plane ride on a B-24. “Pepper” was given by Emil F. Runft, breeder of several kinds of dogs at Reinbeck, to Cpl. John Blohm. Blohm advised Mr. Runft that the group of men he was with at Topeka, Kansas, were going overseas soon and wished to buy a dog to take with them as their mascot. “Pepper,” so named by the fliers, is a fox terrier and is now probably somewhere overseas doing his bit in the war effort.
