Sgt. Edwin C. Wulfekuhle

 

 

Edwin Conrad Wulfekuhle was born Dec. 19, 1919 to Aloysius Henry and Cecelia Maria Vonderhaar Wulfekuhle. He died July 28, 1943 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands and in Holy Cross Cemetery, Holy Cross, IA.

Sgt. Wulfekuhle served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 337th Bomber Squadron, 96th Bomber Group, Heavy as a waist gunner on a plane that was shot down over the North Sea and his body was never recovered. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster.
