Four Brothers in Uniform
Four sons of Mrs. Hattie Wilson of this city are serving in the U.S. armed forces, two of them in navy blue, one in the marines and the other in the army.
Oldest of the quartet is Pfc. N. Wayne Wilson, 29, who recently returned to the states after 27 months in the Pacific with the marine infantry. After nearly three years of marine service he is now located at the marine barracks receiving station, Unit D, Norfolk, Va.
Vernon O. Wilson, 26, is a torpedoman’s mate, second class, and has been in service nearly three years. He is at present stationed on a testing barge at the naval range, Piney Pt., Md., where he has been located for two years.
Pvt. S. Allen Wilson, 23, is located at Harlingen field, Texas, where he is expected to start B29 gunner school work the first of April. Private Wilson has been in service for two years.
Youngest of the four in service and in years is James E. Wilson, 18, a seaman second class, who is now home on leave. He has been in the navy since last November and is taking fire control work at the U. S. naval training station, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
Mrs. Wilson has two other sons who are contributing to the war effort. Charles Wilson is working in the Richmond Cal., shipyards, while Ray Wilson in managing a farm north of Highview.

Noble Wayne Wilson was born Nov. 29, 1915 to Samuel H. and Hattie Eaton Wilson. He died Aug. 28, 2002 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion, IA.
