Lawrence Richard Wilcox was born Aug. 27, 1917 to Sam D. and Elsie Mae Patterson Wilcox. He died Nov. 29, 1944 and has a cenotaph in Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa, IA.
Pvt. Wilcox served in World War II with the U.S. Army 124th Cavalry and was killed in Burma.
