Elver E. Weekley, stationed in England with mobile squadron of the army air corps, has been promoted to rank of private first class, according to word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Weekley of 421 South Milner street.

Elver Edwin Weekly was born Apr. 30, 1925 to John Alexander Logan and Melda Mary Vincent Weekley. He died Nov. 1, 1944 and is buried in Keokuk National Cemetery, Keokuk, IA.

Pvt. Weekley served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 21st Mobile Reclamation and Replenishment Squadron and died in France in the service of his country.
