Lyle E. Wagaman was born Feb. 14, 1921 to Otis and Margaret Wagaman. He died Feb. 22, 1945 and is buried in Shawver Cemetery, Cedar Bluff, IA.
Cpl. Wagaman served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps and was KIA in combat operations on Iwo Jima. He was awarded the Silver Star. He was initially buried in the 5th Marine Division Cemetery on Iwo Jima and returned to the U.S. in 1948.
