Russel E. Van Meter was born Mar. 21, 1914 to Edward Eugene and Emma Lymath Van Meter. He died Jan. 3, 1944 and is buried in Sicily-Rome American Cemetery and Memorial, Nettuno, Italy.
Pvt. Van Meter served with the U.S. Army 185th Field Artillery Battalion, 34th Division in World War II. He was KIA and awarded the Purple Heart.
