Lt. Benton Hathaway VanHorn, Jr.

 

Benton Hathaway Van Horn, Jr. was born May 7, 1920 to Benton Hathaway (Sr.) and Della May Teahan Van Horn. He died June 5, 1945 and is buried in Resthaven Cemetery, West Des Moines, IA.

Lt. Van Horn served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 462nd Bomb Group, 770th Squadron as a navigator and was MIA on a mission to Kobe aboard B-29 #44-69965. He became a POW and was executed at the POW camp at Kobe, Japan.
