Earl K. Van Derveer was born in 1904 to Clinton and Emma Berriman Van Derveer. He died Jan. 23, 1945 and is buried in the Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Henri-Chapelle, Belgium Plot: C Row: 10 Grave: 61.
Lt. Van Derveer was serving with the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division, 325th Glider Infantry Regiment when he was killed in action. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal.
He was the husband of Clara Peterson, who was born in Jewell, IA and at the time of his death was living in Des Moines.
